Five Days of Thanksgiving Prayers

 In Children's Ministry, Student Ministry

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, let us take time to pause from the busyness of the season and give thanks through prayer.  Our prayers do not have to be long to be powerful—“short prayers are long enough” said C.H. Spurgeon.  God hears more than we say, answers more than we ask, and gives more than we can imagine.

Day 1…God, thank you for always being with me.  Your grace and your love encircle me each day, each hour, and each moment.  I am blessed to have you walking beside me, guiding and loving me.  Amen.

Day 2…All powerful and loving God, thank you for your power and strength.  When I feel overwhelmed and helpless, let me turn to you for strength and help me to remember you are unshakable by the things I face.  Thank you for going before me and walking beside me in times of doubt.  Amen.

Day 3…Lord, thank you for the people in my life.  I pray that we draw closer to you together as a community of faith.  Help our relationships grow deeper in love and encouragement for one another.  Help us be your hands and feet to each other and to the world.  Amen.

Day 4…Gracious God, thank you for the blessings in my life.  Help me to see your greatness in this world, to be thankful for all things big and small, to be gracious with others the way you have been gracious with me, and to be your light in this world with my words and actions.  Amen.

Day 5…God, thank you for listening to my joys, concerns, and requests.  I am grateful that all my prayers, whether big or small, are heard by you.  I am thankful I can come to you anytime, anywhere in prayer.  Amen.

May God’s blessings be upon you in this season of thankfulness.  Never underestimate the power of prayer.  Pray daily…God is easier to talk to than most people. *Wink*
