As a church, we are committed to partnering with parents in the spiritual development of our children.
We provide intentional, age-appropriate ministry for children of all ages. Developing relationships with their peers and adult leaders in a small group setting, along with active participation in worship, are essential to lasting faith formation.
We believe the best long-term strategy for faith formation is to offer age-specific Sunday School AND the inclusion of children and youth in the main worship gathering.
When we include our children in worship, we communicate that they have a place in God’s family, regardless of age. They can observe and learn from the larger faith community, serve alongside their peers and adults, and grow their personal relationship with God.
Learning to worship as a multi-generational community is a process that requires patience; sometimes there may be restlessness. Remember, we are all children of God, and learning how to worship is important—and worth a little noise.
As a congregation, we should partner with families in carrying out God’s command to “tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord” in Psalm 78. As a church, we have committed to offering families the following:
- age-specific small groups for children, teens, and their parents,
- family worship time,
- monthly family dinner nights, and
- opportunities to serve as a family periodically throughout the year.
